Uncle Kams was founded in 2008, by Sinniah Kamalendran, commonly known as KAM. Kam first opened the infamous Craylands shop in 2003, and then decided to open Uncle Kams next door in 2008. Subject to the new regeneration project in Craylands, all the properties in the area were destroyed and unfortunately Uncle Kams had to shut down for a considerably long time.

Uncle Kams Reborn

Uncle Kams was then reborn in 2018 and has been a growing brand ever since. We now specialise in Fish and Chips, Fried Chicken and Speciality Burgers and Pizza. We have put a lot of thorough research, effort and training into sourcing the finest cooking ingredients, conditions and equipment in order to deliver the food that you guys deserve.

This is Mark Petrou, a legend in Fish and Chips.

Mark Petrou is an award-winning Fish and Chips owner, entrepreneur, author of Fish & Chips. Mark Petrou was once described by Daily Mail food critic Tom Parker-Bowles (son of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall) as a ‘Fish Frying Evangelist,’ and his TV appearances include Ready Steady Cook and The Alan Titchmarsh Show. He was also the founder of Chippy Chat Magazine and the online forum. Also, an executive councillor for the National Federation of Fish Friers. (Told you, he’s a legend.)

Mark’s shop the Petrou Brothers were named UK’s Number 1 Fish and Chip Shop at the National Fish and Chip Awards in 2006 and has continued to gain further success within the industry. We have had guidance, tips and a visit to remind us how it is done. We work closely with Mark, making him visit every year to remind our teams how it’s done!
